On October 27, 2016, President Barack Obama commuted the sentence of Reisa Lynn Pettiette, who was convicted in the Eastern District of Texas in 2003 of conspiracy to manufacture and distribute methamphetamine, conspiracy to possess a listed chemical for controlled substance manufacturing, possession of a listed chemical with intent to manufacture a controlled substance, possession and distribution of a listed chemical with intent to manufacture a controlled substance, possession of an unregistered firearm, and use, carrying, and possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking. Pettiette's original sentence of 240 months imprisonment and 60 months supervised release was reduced by the commutation.
