On March 31, 2015, President Barack Obama granted a commutation to Rudolph Norris, who had been convicted in the District of Columbia in 1993 of unlawful distribution of cocaine base and unlawful possession with intent to distribute five grams or more of cocaine base in violation of 21 U.S.C. §§ 841(a)(1), 841(b)(1)(C), and 841(b)(1)(B)(iii). Norris's original sentence of 360 months imprisonment and 96 months supervised release was reduced by the commutation.
