On August 30, 2016, President Barack Obama granted a commutation of sentence to Daxtrell D. Robinson, who was convicted in 2005 in the Central District of Illinois of possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of cocaine base under 21 U.S.C. §§ 841(a)(1) & (b)(1)(A)(iii). Robinson's original sentence of 240 months imprisonment and 120 months supervised release was reduced by the commutation.
